To consider Schulz's work as a relevant printmaking process is a totally acceptable assumption. Upon further analysis of the working parts that have gone into her pieces, all the essential elements of the process are present. The matrices and substrates that she uses are far from conventional, but still in the parameters of true-to-the-craft printmaking. The performance aspect of her work adds a new dimension of significance to the printing process, rather than just experience the process as a part of the product– like appreciating the quality of a print and knowing the technical mastery that it would require. Attending the performance is an entirely different experience, and the performance, or act of printing, becomes the print itself.
